An education podcast exploring the use of comics in education. Lucy Starbuck Braidley

By day, former primary school teacher Lucy Starbuck Braidley is Senior Programme Manager for Reading for Enjoyment at The National Literacy Trust where she runs school programmes designed to inspire children to read for the joy of it.

By night, she is a comics and graphic novels enthusiast and (very) amateur comic creator. Occasionally, these two worlds meet and in the course of her day job she has drawn on her experience of using comics as a teacher to run teacher training on comics in the classroom and create teaching resources for schools. In 2021, she worked with Beano to produce a comics pack for children, Comics Rules. Through the National Literacy Trust, the Comics Rules pack has been distributed to 20,000 children across the UK, including being distributed at the brilliant Story Museum Oxford’s Kaboom exhibition.
